The Witcher 3 is Free on PC If You Have It On Console
Playstation 4 and Xbox One owners who already own theThe Witcher 3, can gain a free copy on PC through GOG.com. Those who own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition are eligibleuntil June 23rd.
If you’ve already got a copy of The Witcher 3 on PC, well GOG have thought of that and are letting you claim a free copy to gift to a friend. This might sound all very strange but this is to promote GOG’s platform GOG Galaxy 2.0 which allows you to use multiple platforms for games and friends, combining all into one app. So players get a free copy of the game on PC while trying to out the platform.
If you’re wondering what about Switch players, unfortunately this promotion doesn’t include the on-the-go version as Switch doesn’t have this kind of integration.
Console players will need to claim their copy by downloading theGOG Galaxy 2.0 appand connecting your console platform to get the GOG.com version of the game.
PC players who want to claim a free copy to gift a friend, will need to click the “claim The Witcher 3” banner in the GOG Galaxy 2.0 app in order to claim.
