The latest and greatest for the Digimon Card Game is here with Blast Ace meaning players will be able to check out the brand new mechanics, Digimon and more that this set has brought to the table! The biggest new inclusion to this set is the new Ace Digimon who made their debut in the two starter decks released just last month featuring WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. This mechanic allows players to counter during an opponent’s attack and digivolve for no cost if they have an appropriate Digimon and give themselves the opportunity to turn the tide of battle in their favor. The drawback being if that particular Ace card leaves the field the owner takes a hefty memory loss the moment it leaves. The Blast Ace set in particular focuses on four tamers from the original Digimon Adventure series including Mimi with Palmon, Tai with Agumon, Joe with Gomamon and T.K. With Patamon. All of these Digimon have received level 5 Ace Digimon making them dangerous early contenders to get out to sway the game.

In addition to the Digimon from Adventure we also see two other lines highlighted in this particular set with the first being the Commandramon line. This line is well known for being part of the D-Brigade and adds the brand new trait of DigiPolice to align with characters seen in Digimon Seekers. Satsuki Tamahime is one of two brand new tamers to include the brand new Mind Link mechanic which allows a tamer to be placed under a Digimon for bonus abilities before being removed at the end of the turn to keep itself safe from attacks. The big new Digimon for D-Brigade includes Cargodramon and Brigadramon in addition to help from the DigiPolice like Numemon who can make immediate use of Satsuki if one is in hand. In addition to these we see Digimon Seeker’s main character step on the scene with Eiji Nagasumi and Loogamon. This particular purple line has been hugely popular since its reveal and fans are looking forward to collecting this brand new dog line. Much like Satsuki, Eiji is able to Mind Link with another Digimon and even make use of the Alliance mechanic for a DP buff and double security check. What’s even more terrifying is the level 6 for Loogamon known as Fenriloogamon has a unique condition that won’t pass the turn to the opponent until they’re at 3 memory instead of the normally required 1 memory to pass turn. Be sure to keep an eye out for this deadly opponent as it will definitely catch those that aren’t ready off guard.

Anyone who happens to pick up a booster box will also receive a bonus tutorial deck while supplies last based around Digimon Adventure 02 and featuring Veemon, Wormmon and the brand new Ukkamon seen in the recently released Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning anime film. Each booster box will also come with three promo packs with a variety of cards including one foil egg, a guaranteed promo Digimon and the brand new training promo cards. These are a must-have for many decks and fortunately each pack for the training cards comes with one of each color, excluding white, so players will be able to easily trade with friends if they’re after a particular color they need more copies of.

Retail price for individual packs of Blast Ace are $4.49 while booster box prices will vary based on retailer. For even more information on this release and places cards can be bought check out the official Digimon Card Game website righthere.
