PS5 Will Have More Xbox Exclusives Than Its Own Games in 2025
The latestState of Playwas packed with surprises, several confirmations, and, just as importantly, the debunking of various rumors.
The rumored remaster of the first God of War games, a Hellblade 2 port, or even GTA 6 were all absent from the presentation. Not even Death Stranding 2, which seemed like a sure bet, made an appearance.

However, what the State of Play did confirm is that the PS5’s catalog this year will feature more games from the competition than exclusive Sony titles.
The latestState of Playintroduced new PS5 exclusives, but most of them are not set to launch this year.

Saros, the impressive game from Housemarque, is set for a 2026 release. Tides of Annihilation has an even less certain timeframe, with the only confirmation being that it is “in development for PS5.”
PlayStation Exclusives Games List
Regarding the confirmed first-party games coming in the next few months, the State of Play lineup includesLost Soul Aside, expected in May, and theremaster of Days Gone, set to launch in April.
This means that for 2025, the key PlayStation exclusives are those two titles, along withMLB: The Show 25(which is also coming to Xbox and Switch),Ghost of Yotei, andDeath Stranding 2: On the Beach.

It remains uncertain whetherMarvel’s Wolverinewill release soon, as Insomniac has been very secretive about it.Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophetwill also take time to arrive, and there are no updates from Bungie regardingMarathon.
While PS5 will have five exclusives this year, Sony’s console is set to receive no fewer thanseven games from its rival, Xbox—or eveneight, if we include the next Call of Dutycoming this fall.

The list includes:
And that’s without counting potential additional surprises, such as the rumoredHellblade 2 portand possible versions ofHalo: The Master Chief CollectionandFlight Simulator.
Even the newAvowedis expected to launch on PS5, as the game’s director accidentally revealed.
It’s a paradoxical situation that could change if PlayStation announces more release dates for this year. However, many believe that the wave of live-service game cancellations is the reason behind this “drought”—a situation that is being eased thanks toXbox’s multiplatform strategy.
