Persona 5 Royal will be getting the tabletop treatment in a new card game set to release next year.
Persona 5 Royal Tabletop Card Game Coming in 2023
Fans of Persona 5 Royal will be able to get their hands on the card game when it launches on October 23rd 2023. The TCG will be based on the 2016 game, which sets players in the role of the Joker. Tasked with doing away with corrupted enemies, the game also puts focuses on bonds with party members and interactions.
An updated version of the game released in 2019 called Royal, which incidentally is coming tonew platforms this month. Royal is the expanded version of the original game, which added new characters, enemies, locations and further content.

The card game adaptation will be developed by Century: Eastern Wonders and Foundations of Rome designer Emerson Matsuuchi. According to Matsuuchi the Persona 5: Royal card game will let players “take on the roles of their favorite Phantom Thieves and fight to change the world in this cooperative card-based strategy game.” Co-owner of Pandasaurus Games Nathan McNair also shared that the tabletop will feature all the exciting locations of the game including the Palaces:
I cannot wait to bring the Palaces, Velvet Room, and world of Persona 5 Royal onto tabletops everywhere in 2023.
The publisher Pandasaurus Games is a board game company based in the US, which has covered such titles as Dinosaur Island, The Mind and Machi Koro. Emerson Matsuuchi has taken on the role of designer for the Persona 5 royal card game. Matsuuchi has previously worked on the likes of Spectre Ops and Reef. More details are expected to release soon. With this lineup we should be in for some cool and stylish-looking cards, especially if it follows suit (pardon the pun) with the turn-based game.
In the meantime, you can catch up with Persona 5 Royal on consoles and PC on October 21st. Those who pre-order the Physical 1 More Edition will also gain some cosmetics and frame art come launch day. Persona fans are getting some pretty cool re-releases soon, as Atlus has announced recently thatPersona 3 and Persona 4will be heading to consoles and PC via Game Pass in January 2023 as well.
