A look at SteamDB shows that the game has reached a peak of1,230,530 concurrent players. At the moment of writing, Monster Hunter Wilds holds the highest active player peak, an astonishing feat that suggests even higher numbers could be reached soon.

This milestone surpasses the numbers set by Cyberpunk 2077 at its rocky launch. The only games ahead of it areDota 2, Lost Ark, Counter-Strike: GO, Palworld, Black Myth: Wukong, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Mixed Reviews and Performance Concerns

However, not all news is positive for Capcom’s latest title. In its first hours, the game has receivedmixed reviews, accumulating over 950 user ratings.

Some players, particularly on PC, are complaining about performance issues, which appear to beworse than in the beta tests. One player reported running the game at50 FPS on Medium settings, whereas the beta ran at60-70 FPS on High settings.
