Microsoft Adds GPT-Fueled Bing Chat To SwiftKey On Android
Microsoft is bringing itsBing Chat conversational AI systemto its Android keyboard app, SwiftKey. Pedram Rezaei, Mobile and Commerce Division CTO at Microsoft,tweetedabout the new feature, available via SwiftKey’s beta channel.
Images shared on Twitter by a tester shows a dedicated Bing Chat icon, the same kind you now see in Edge browser and Windows 11’s home search page. You can enter a query and specify whether you want to launch a web search or chat with the AI program. The core idea is to access the magic of Bing Chat without a standalone app.

SwiftKey won’t be the first keyboard app to bring AI chops to your fingerprints. Akeyboard app called Paragraph AI, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 language model, recently made waves. It allows users to generate answers in multiple formats like paragraphs, lists, and emails while allowing users to control the tone and other attributes of AI-generated messages. However, it’s a paid app that asks you to cough up around $24 monthly to access its features. Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard offers two crucial advantages here.
Fast, free, but rolling out in a phased manner
SwiftKey is a free app, which means you can access its new Bing Chat feature without paying a dime, unlike Paragraph AI. Second, Microsoft recently confirmed itupgraded its Bing systems to GPT-4, the latest version of OpenAI’s language model.
That means you are getting the latest AI advancements with the SwiftKey keyboard. Plus, given Microsoft’s close business ties with OpenAI, you can also rest assured that you will experience the AI lab’s latest advancements on Microsoft products like SwiftKey quicker than any other option.
For now, the Bing Chat integration in SwiftKey is limited to the beta channel, but you can already download the latest build –- released on June 25, 2025 –- from the Google Play Store. The feature is being rolled out in a phased manner and may not be available for you even if you install the beta app. There is no official word on iOS plans yet.
