In an interview with The New Yorker, Emma Thompson recalled the incident when she found out about her former husband Kenneth Branagh’s affair. She told the outlet,
“I was utterly, utterly blind to the fact that he had relationships with other women on set. What I learned was how easy it is to be blinded by your own desire to deceive yourself. I was half alive. Any sense of being a lovable or worthy person had gone completely.”
The actress previously claimed that she has no hard feelings towards her former husband and Helena Bonham Carter, with whom he had a fling before they divorced.
She told the Sunday Times,
