TheJust like Heavenstar played the role for more than ten years; the character first appeared inThe Avengers. Despite how recognizable the character may be, recent changes to the character (checkShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law) have made this rendition quite divisive.

However,Joe Rogan, the host of a well-known podcast, is one of the countless Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans who does not appreciate everything that has been happening with the Hulk (his appearance inShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law).

Mark Ruffalo

“I think there is gonna be a New Hulk. And then Mark Ruffalo is busy being a political activists or something it could take the rights to his face and put somebody else.”

Mark Ruffalo Discussed His MCU Future AfterShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law

Mark Ruffalo discussed his potential return to the role of ‘Hulk’ in an interview with Variety. The actor claimed that each time Marvel Studios contacts him regarding a subsequent appearance as Bruce Banner, he is still taken aback.

He even acknowledged that he was essentially waiting for the replacement to step up, but he insisted that he would keep performing as long as Marvel and the fans continued to support him in the role. To quote Ruffalo:

“I don’t know! I’m always surprised that I’m still here. I mean, me and Ed Norton joke that the Hulk is like our generation’s Hamlet — we’re all going to get a shot at it. I keep waiting for the next version of it. I mean, I’ll probably do it as long as they’ll have me, if people are interested, and I can bring something that’s interesting to me to it, and interesting to the fans. But I have no idea.”

Having said that, the actor can not help but imagine making a movie about an older version of the character many years from now:

“I mean, you know, when you look at the comics, there’s some pretty grizzled, old versions of him. I’m like, OK, the 67-year-old Hulk, that would be interesting — if all of us are still here making movies and there’s a world that allows for us to do that anymore. With what we’re living in and heading towards, the future feels more precarious than any other time. So I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. But I hope I’m still around to do it.”

AfterThe Avengers(2012), theShutter Islandreturned to play the part inAvengers: Age of Ultron(2015),Thor: Ragnarok(2017),Avengers: Infinity War(2018), andAvengers: Endgame(2019).
