Flintlock: The Siege of Dawnis available now on PC through Steam and Game Pass, and while it’s a fun title, it’s not in the most stable state. There are some technical issues in both versions like stuttering, lack of proper controller support, and an overall lack of stability. For now, if you’re running into any crashing while playing Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, here are a few things you can do to reduce and fix those.
Fixing Crashing Issues in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
In many cases, you’ll run into generic Unreal Engine crash messages like “LowLevelFatalError” or just “Fatal Error” when playing Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn crashes.
Thankfully the team is active on Steam and is constantly taking feedback from players. Here are a few things you’re able to do to fix these.

Disable Frame Generation and DLSS
On the Steam forums, the team is recommending disabling DLSS for the time being to see if that helps with stability in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn. It’s like an issue with how it’s implemented, so for now, avoid DLSS entirely for improved stability.
Don’t Alt-Tab With Frame Generation On
If you’re using Frame Generation, avoid alt-tabbing, because there’s a good chance it will crash the game. This is a common issue with the technology and is reported in other titles as well. We hope that a patch down the line fixes that problem for this title as well.
Play in Borderless Windowed Mode
Multiple users have reported that playing Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn in Borderless Windowed mode is far more stable than regular Fullscreen. Switch to this from the settings to see if you can improve overall stability.
Update GPU Drivers
Make sure you’re using the latest GPU drivers, especially if you haven’t updated those in a while. you’re able to get the latest drivers for your GPU from the links below.
Verify Game Files
There’s a chance that some game files aren’t in order, which is why it’s recommended that you verify the installation files in either Steam or the Xbox App.
If any files are missing or corrupted, Steam will redownload those.

If you have Flintlock installed in the Xbox App, you can verify the files there as well.
Apart from that, you can try the following generic troubleshooting suggestions.

We’re glad that the developers are taking feedback, and are active on the Steam forums. We urge players to report their findings but maintain a level of respect while doing so. Hopefully, we’ll see a patch soon as some of the issues present in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn were also there in the demo.
