Can You Transfer Your Progress from the Demo to the Full Version of Final Fantasy XVI?
Yes, you can! Well, at least from the half of it.Square Enix‘s recent practice of demoing their games continues with Final Fantasy XVI. You can try the demo for free, make some progress and create the save file that you will be able to transfer to the full game once it’s out – but there is a catch.
This massive and well-polished demo consists of two parts – the first starts with the big battle (Eikons included) and the atmosphere we expected after all the trailers and announcements, but is very quickly interrupted as we go back 13 years in the past when we take on the role of a younger Clive. This is the real prologue for the game which contains almost two hours of tutorial-like gameplay and an introduction to the characters and the story.
Once you’re done with that, the second part of the demo begins, which is set much later in the game with much more challenges and battles in a dungeon-crawling environment. This part of the demo is here to show players what the game will look like later on – butonly the save files you make in the prologue part of the demo will actually be transferable. Makes sense?
Final Fantasy XVIis releasing onJune 22, 2023, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Until then, enjoy the demo and check out what the devs said aboutbuilding the bridge between old and new fans.
