Like it or not,Weatheris an important part of our lives. With that in mind, it makes sense for Weather information to be front-and-center on our smartphones’Lock screensas we use our devices throughout the day. With that in mind, why isn’t this the case on Apple’s iPhone?

While you can definitely swipe over to see the Weather widget from the Lock screen, I’d prefer a much more integrated approach from Apple. Unfortunately, that seems about as likely as a USB-C port at this point, and if you’re tired of waiting, then you can always resort to using a newjailbreak tweakcalledMotby iOS developerDon.

As shown in the screenshot example above, Mot puts useful Weather information directly on the first page of your iPhone’s Lock screen, just underneath the time and date. It kicks things off with a summary of what’s going on, and then shows a daily weather forecast with highs and lows underneath.

If you’re accustomed to reading the weather in other ways, then you’ll be excited to know that Mot is completely customizable. Upon installing the tweak, you’ll find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can set the tweak up your way:

Personally, I like the way Mot comes right out of the box, but with Fahrenheit selected instead of Celsius. That aside, I implore potential users to get their hands dirty with the settings to get the exact look and feel they’re going for.

Those interested in downloading Mot for a better Weather experience on their iPhonecan get it for $2.49 in the Packix repositoryfrom any package manager. The tweak supportsjailbrokeniOS devices running 12 or 13.
