Friday the 13this easily one of themost well-known slasher moviesand franchises that feature a masked killer hunting down a group of unsuspecting teenagers. The original is easily the best and most well-known, introducing the audience to a group of likable characters that fall into the hands of a maniac killer and also the lore that follows Jason Voorhees. Of course, if you’ve seen the movie, you know that Jason doesn’t come until the very end, and the person that was killing all the teens throughout the film was actually Jason’s mother.

In the age of reboots, it was only a matter of time for this series to be tappedand adapted into a new series, and Peacock has picked it up as a show. There isn’t arelease date yet or a cast announced, so it’s always fun to cast your own picks for this iconic franchise. That being said, here are ten actors we would love to see in this upcoming series,Crystal Lake.

Jenna Ortega as Lorraine in X, screaming, with a horrified look on her face and an entirely black background.

10Jenna Ortega - Alice

As we know,Jenna Ortegais in high demand right now and is quicklybecoming one of the best scream queensof this generation. She’s shown her versatility throughout her career so far, such as by starring inWednesday, theScreamfranchise, andX. She brings a certain flair to her characters where she’s not helpless, but she’s also not overdoing it, and we can easily see Ortega in the role of Alice.

She’s a final girl through and through, and inX, we got to see her in a camp setting, so again, she would fit right intoCamp Crystal Lake. In the original, Alice is a great final girl who does a few things that make you groan and shake your head, such as running around in the downpour, but ultimately, she survives. It almost seems fitting that Ortega plays a character in horror that has to survive.

9Drew Starkey - Jack

It’s hard to imagine anyone doing Kevin Bacon’s character justice, butDrew Starkeyhas been making a name for himself over the past few years. You most likely know him from the hit Netflix show,Outer Banks, but he was also in the newest installment of theHellraiserfranchise. Starkey as Jack would be great because he’s just kind of there, hanging out and flirting with Marcie until he ultimately dies being a hormonal teenager.

Jack is a helpless character, and it would be interesting to see how Starkey could turn him into his own thing, since he usually plays people with a lot of power.

Joe Keery in Spree.

8Joe Keery - Bill

Bill is easily one of the smartest characters in the original film, opting to stick together and fix the generator instead of just sitting in darkness. Unlike the other guys featured in the original, Bill seems very kind-hearted and nice, not creepy or sex-oriented, even though he participates in a game of strip Monopoly.Joe Keery, known for his role as Steve Harrington inStranger Things, is fully capable of being the nice guy in a slasher movie, one that makes you sad when he dies because he had so much potential.

Bill dies by a slit throat and is also impaled by several arrows into a door, because, of course, the nice character has to have the worst death.

Patrick Wilson with a demon behind him in Insidious

7Patrick Wilson - Steve Christy

Patrick Wilsonisno stranger to horror films, starring in two major franchises,The ConjuringandInsidious, and he just has that vibe of a camp director. Steve Christy dons a mustache and drives a Jeep, entrusting the camp counselors to behave themselves as he goes out and runs a few errands, not knowing he’s leaving them to be slaughtered. Christy isn’t a major character, so Wilson’s involvement would make Christy that much more amplified and important. He can be a bit creepy but also reliable, leading you to root for him to make it back to camp but also know that he’s not going to get very far.

6Samantha Hanratty - Annie

Samantha Hanrattyhas had a very great year with her involvement inYellowjackets, and she would easily make a great Annie. In the original, Annie is the first character we meet as she’s headed to Camp Crystal Lake to become the chef for the summer, but ultimately, she never makes it there.

She’s excited and extremely enthusiastic about her summer job, and after getting a ride from Mrs. Voorhees, she expresses how much she loves to take care of kids, leading the audience to believe that she’s the best choice for this job. You watch on in horror and slight sadness as Mrs. Voorhees murders Annie by slitting her throat before leaving her to bleed out in the woods.

5Mason Gooding - Ned

Mason Goodingwowed audiences with his performance in the two newestScreaminstallments andhis refusal to die in both movies. He’s a fresh face in horror and has proven to be a reliable actor, making you like him and root for him until you realize he most likely won’t last very long. Similar to the character of Ned inFriday the 13th, the friend who was much like the comedic relief even when the other campers didn’t find him funny, like when he pretended to drown in the lake.

Ned’s death is truly brutal, as his throat is slashed, and he’s left on the bunk on top of Jack’s, and he lays there as the two have sex, not knowing he’s dead above them. Gooding would be a refreshing take on Ned’s character, hopefully ditching the Native American headpiece scene and instead becoming even more likable before perishing.

4Lin Shaye - Mrs. Voorhees

Mrs. Voorhees is the killer in the first film, racking up nine kills altogether, which is an incredible feat once you look at all the ways she took people down.Lin Shayeis a remarkable actress that delves deep into horror, starring in the Insidious franchise but also other niche horror movies such asJack Comes Home, The Final Wish, andRoom for Rent.

Mrs. Voorhees is incredibly creepy, especially when she reveals herself in the end, and she corners Alice in that very long and intense scene. She goes on that long rant about how and why she took to killing people for her son Jason, and Shaye could easily nail it.

3Robert Longstreet - Truck Driver

The truck driver that gives Annie a ride in the very beginning of the movie does not have a huge role, but he’s one of the first people we interact with in the movie, so there has to be someone with a recognizable presence to play him.Robert Longstreetis the perfect person to play this reluctant driver, who doesn’t want to bring Annie to the camp because he knows what could possibly go wrong, but is ultimately convinced to give her a ride.

As they drive, he tells her about the horrors that took place at Camp Crystal Lake and warns her not to go, but Annie is too excited to believe him. Longstreet has a very recognizable voice and is no stranger to horror, as he played Lonnie Elm inHalloween(2018).

2Mia Goth - Marcie

Mia Goth, similar to Jenna Ortega, has taken thehorror genre by stormthese past few years, and we’re eager to see what her next big project is. If Goth was involved in this film, more hype would come for the series since she is genuinely a very interesting actress and would raise the creepy factor even more, as we have seen in past performances, such asPearl.

Marcie, Jack’s girlfriend, is also a very helpless character who’s adamantly afraid of thunderstorms after a terrible childhood nightmare involving blood rain. Marcie dies in the bathroom after fooling around with Jack and Goth. She could really be scared as she looks through each shower stall before ultimately being taken down by Mrs. Voorhees.

1Samara Weaving - Brenda

In the original movie, the character Brenda always seemed older than the other character, maybe since she seemed to be more mature or because there was that weird but brief tension between her and Steve Christy.Samara Weavinghas made a name for herself in horror withReady or Notand as a victim of Ghostface inScream VI.

Brenda is a fun and trustworthy character that you root for until she keeps dismissing the feeling of being watched and not becoming worried that she keeps seeing strange things. Weaving could easily adapt the role of Brenda and tweak it for her way of acting, and it’d be fun to see her in yet another slasher film.
