Quick Links
Atomfall, like many RPGs, has quite a few dark areas that you’ll end up exploring. If you followed the instructions to first set up the game when you launch it, then those dark areas will be tough to explore with the help of a flashlight, or torch, as it’s called in-game. Luckily, you’re able to pick up a torch fairly early on in the game if you know where to go.
Review: Atomfall
Does Rebellion’s attempt at breaking into the survival-crafting space “fall” flat?
When it comes to the flashlight, you have a few options for picking one up. One is more certain than the other, but requires you to have items to trade for. Then, the other option is more based on luck.

Where to Get a Flashlight
If you want to be mostly certain about getting a flashlight, then you want tohead toMolly the trader. She’s found in the northern part of the Slatten Dale map, and if you talk to the man directly outside the bunker you start the game inside, he’ll tell you about Molly. This puts a point of interest on your map, leading you right to her.
As a trader, Molly uses the bartering system, so you need items to trade for the flashlight. She also has ashelter key and metal detector, which are useful tools to pick up at the same time. If you encounter Outlaws on your way to her, pick up their weapons. A few weapons of any type should be more than enough to get Molly to trade all three important items with you.

Other Locations
Your other option is to hope that you come across aflashlight on an enemy or in abandoned buildings. When you leave the starting bunker, there’s an Outlaw Camp that you’ll find if you follow the path you’re on. It’s possible to pick up a flashlight in the buildings there, but you need to do a bit of fighting to get it, and it doesn’t seem like it’s guaranteed to be there.
It might be worth checking if you may sneak around or take out the Outlaws, but you could also see it as not worth the time, since you can visit Molly instead. But regardless of which option you pick, you’ll soon find yourself with a flashlight in Atomfall.
