Fire Emblem Engage Character Tier List: Best Characters in Fire Emblem Engage, Ranked

What determines whether a unit is S-Tier or C-Tier all boils down to their utility on the battlefield. This is influenced by their growth rates, skills, and ability to synergize with the rest of the team. These units will be ranked from S-Tier (best) to C-Tier (worst). There’s nothing lower than C-Tier because, frankly, all units are capable of working if you provide them with the right build.

S-Tier Units in Fire Emblem Engage

S-Tier naturally includes some of the best damage-dealing and utility-based heroes available in Fire Emblem Engage.Diamant, in his exclusive Class Successeur, is capable of using Wrath and Hold Out+++ to become a high-damage / high-survival unit that can tank through most enemies.HortensiaandIvyare high-mobility units that offer some of the best support and magic damage available across wide sections of the map.Kagetsuis a high-damage, high-speed unit with excellent growth, capable of attacking twice because of that speed.Seadallallows other units to attack twice, making him the most invaluable setup unit in the game. His ability Curious Dance can even heal. AndVeyleandAlear? Are dragons. And they have the stats and abilities to match those exclusive classes. Veyle, in particular, is potent with her ability to reduce the adjacent damage allies take while also giving them +1 to their attack.

B-Tier Units in Fire Emblem Engage

B-Tier units are generally units that are more unique but fall a little behind their more optimized counterparts.Celineis outpaced by Ivy, Goldmary by a wide variety of units,JadeandLapisare a lesser Diamant. And as much as it pains me,Merrinsimply doesn’t have the utility of either Cupido Foagdo or Swordmaster Kagetsu.

C-Tier Units in Fire Emblem Engage

Every Fire Emblem game, we’re introduced to a handful of characters who are meant to help get us through the first few chapters and then be permanently benched. For Fire Emblem Engage, those characters areClanne,Framme, andEtie. Unfortunately, their unit growth rates don’t keep pace with other units we receive later in the game. As for the rest, it’s a similar story to B-Tier. Many of them are simply outpaced by units with better stats. Why pickCitrinnewhen you may have Lindwurm Ivy or Sage Anna? Why haveEtiewhen you could have Tireur d’elite Alcryst? And in the case ofPanette, she’s best promoted to Wolf Knight, but as we’ve seen with Merrin, Wolf Knights fall flat when faced with better calvary units.

Of course, your milage may vary. Each unit is viable in its own way, and I’ve personally kept Merrin on my team until the very end of the game, even though she’s by no means meta. I still find she’s able to function well with the right build. Pick the units and builds that work best for you and your playstyle.
