Square Enixhas confirmed its release onSteamand theEpic Games Storewith a30% discount available until launch day.
In essence,Final Fantasy VII Rebirthon PC remains the same as the PS5 version, but with notable graphical enhancements, especially for those with high-end systems. And if you manage to snag an NVIDIA RTX 50 graphics card, it promises to be a visual marvel.
The Japanese company emphasizes that theFinal Fantasy VII Remakesaga—which will conclude in the coming years with a third installment—is aimed at reaching “more players.”
While currently exclusive to PlayStation and PC, it’s only a matter of time before the games make their way to Xbox, and possibly even the successor to the Nintendo Switch. The company acknowledges that “they cannot remain exclusive to a single system.”

Technical Highlights
We already know thatFinal Fantasy VII Rebirthwill offerthree graphics configuration modesat launch: Low, Medium, and High. The trailer even includes a brief comparison between these settings, and the results look impressive.
Although there’s no confirmation yet about compatibility with the Steam Deck, it’s likely, given that Final Fantasy VII Remake is verified for Valve’s system.
Square Enix has also introduced an innovative feature for the PC version: the ability to adjust the number of NPCs (whether Shinra soldiers or ordinary citizens) visible on-screen. This allows players with mid-range or low-end PCs to optimize performance by reducing the load of secondary characters.
The PC version supports resolutions of up to4Kand frame rates up to120 FPS, though these options are reserved for the most powerful hardware.
Additional enhancements include fullDualSense controller support, full functionality for keyboard and mouse setups, and significantly improved lighting and shadow effects compared to the PS5 version.
