Either way, this is good news for Square Enix, as the PC platform continues to deliver strong sales for the publisher.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Release Date

The game is coming to PC and the Epic Games Store onJanuary 23, 2025.

Compared to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, sales for Rebirth haven’t been as strong, and we hope that the next entry adopts a multi-platform approach at launch. Releasing the title that’s now enjoyed by players across different platforms on just the PS5 doesn’t help sales in the slightest.

Square Enix has acknowledged this and confirmed in their “New Medium-term Business Plan” forFiscal Year 2025 to Fiscal Year 2027that they will “aggressively pursue a multi-platform strategy that includes Nintendo platforms, PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs”. PC is the key platform here as it has shown success for plenty of major and smaller Square Enix releases over the last few years.
