Chris Hemsworthreprised his role as the God of Thunder inThor: Love and Thunder. The comedic relief in the movie was very prominent which somehow put off many viewers. Now, one of those scenes was Thor’s back tattoos that served as a tribute to his deceased brother, Loki.

Thor’s tattoos were supposed to be part ofThor: Ragnarokaccording to directorTaika Waititi. The design would be a smaller one as a tribute to his brother’s supposed death inThor: The Dark World. Waititi explained viaInsider:
“It was a comedy bit that was supposed to be in Ragnarok. When Loki faked his death, and he’s reunited with Thor and Thor can’t believe he’s alive, he was to say, ‘I mourned you, look I even got this stupid tattoo,’ and Thor lifts his sleeve, and it’s a tattoo that said, ‘RIP Loki.’”

For some reason, the scene never made it toThor 3, but the director was adamant about inserting it into the film one way or another. It wasKevin Feigewho requested to make it bigger.
Meanwhile, other fans were touched by the gesture of using the tattoo scene inThor 4because it added more emotional depth to a grieving Thor.

Thor Almost Had Another Tattoo On His Forearm
Chris Hemsworth spoke withCinemaBlendand revealed that Thor almost got another forearm tattoo which was a tribute to his character’s passion for rollerblading that he shares withNatalie Portman’s Jane Foster. He said:
“We had another tattoo reference as well. When we were talking about rollerblading. Was it ‘Blade… Once you blade, you never fade.’ Yeah. But that didn’t make it in the movie.”
Fans would surely conjure a way for Loki his use all of his powers to reverse time if Thor actually had that line inked on his skin.
