Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeoffers an immense amount of content, and most of it is stored outside the main story in optional areas that you may not ever see. One such area is theAbyssal Woods.
To get to this location requires a bit of a trek through the world; it’s arguably the longest journey to get to one single location and its reward may not be what you have hoped for. These woods are desolate and filled with horrors unimaginable. The Frenzy has spread throughout the area, seeping into the trees, wildlife and water sources, transforming some into formidable beings. Some of these are creatures you specifically are told you are unable to fight, and rightfully so, as these beings will hunt you down and frenzy you within a second.
Shadow Keep Secret
If you still wish to travel here and eventually get toMidra’s Manse, you will first need to have access toShadow Keep. After the first boss, there will be a flight of stairs to the right. Go up here and hug left where there are kindled boats. After the second fire, there will be a ladder that will lead you down to a small waterfall and behind it a room with a painting. There will be a hidden wall there, simply attack or roll into it and at the end of the drainage will be a coffin to sleep in.

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Global Release Time
Get yourself prepared to fight in the long-awaited Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
This will take you toScadu Altus. Ignore the ruins ahead of you and the furnace golem enemy, instead heading right once more. Follow the cliffside until you reach the second Grace, which is right behind a set of tombstones sticking outside the cliffs to help you traverse downward. Head to the bottom and then immediately head southeast until you hit a waterfall, and alongside the cliff will be another set of tombstones to climb down.
Darklight Catacombs
At this point you should encounter theDarklight Catacombsbuilt into the side of the mountain. Simply get through the unique dungeon and face the boss,Jori, Elder Inquisitor. As you might see, this arena is different, and upon defeating Jori, it will unlock a pathway to a new area: TheAbyssal Woods. If you are in need of getting to the Manse first, head southwest, but be weary of the dangers that lurk outside the tall grass.
