If you live right on the border of two different time zones, or you’re close friends with someone who lives in a timezone different than yours, then you may want to stay mindful about the variances in time across several regions as not to come off as disturbing to someone else when you send a text or place a phone call.

Apple’s native Clock app is an excellent resource for checking the time in other time zones, but if you’ve ever wished you could tell the time in another location at a glance without having to launch an app, then you’ll probably come to appreciate the likes of a newly releasedjailbreak tweakdubbedDualClockby iOS developerGinsu.

Just as the tweak’s name implies, and further supported by the screenshot example above, DualClock puts two separate time and date indicators on theLock screenso that you have fast and effortless reference to the current time in another timezone at a glance.

DualClock is fully configurable. Not only can you choose which time zones are depicted by each individual clock, but you can also configure date and time formatting, among other things. All these options and more are available via a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app after installation:

The developer provides a Respring button at the top of the preference pane to help you save any changes you make on demand.

One of the things I like best about DualClock is that it integrates into the native Lock screen interface in a somewhat Apple-esque way. If Apple were ever to make a feature like this, this is ultimately how I would envision the company making it, as it’s both simple and useful.
