What are Chillshrooms?
Not to be confused with the ever-popularChillshroomofThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, although serving a somewhat similar purpose, theChillshroomin Monster Hunter Wilds is a plant in the vast world that can be collected and used in crafting recipes.
While most of the mushrooms and herbs that can be collected in Monster Hunter Wilds are multipurpose, meaning they are used in various recipes, Chillshrooms have a single purpose when bringing them into your tent: to craft aCool Drink. The Cool Drink is very helpful against fire-based enemies, and most importantly, in scorching environments in the Oilwell Basin.
Where to Find Chillshrooms
Oilwell Basin
The Chillshroom is an immensely rare mushroom found in exactly one location in Monster Hunter Wilds: The Oilwell Basin. Considering this is where you will face most of the fiery monsters, it’s convenient that this item is found here, and not somewhere like the Iceshard Cliffs, where it’s a frigid wasteland ripe for the cold.
Regardless, the Chillshroom can be found in four spots in the Oilwell Basin, all of which are fairly close by, except one. All of these are located on the bottom floor of the area, and located in-between zones. The first one is along the way to the bottom level,coming out of zone 8 and into zone 13. The next two are locatedin-between zone 13 and zone 15,following a watery pathway.
The third and final one is a little bit out of the way, but still relatively close by. In-between thepathway of zone 14 and zone 15, you will find a lone Chillshroom ripe for the picking. It’s not necessarily out-of-the-way given how close it is to the others, but it still requires a little bit of legwork to get.
