Capcomaims to reduce GPU requirements on PC following criticism about the game’s performance during the first open beta. The company is working hard to enhance the newMonster Hunter Wilds, set to launch on February 28.
Monster Hunter Wilds Second Open Beta
Monster Hunter Wildsis one of the most anticipated games of 2025, and there’s just over a month left until its release on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. In fact, players won’t have to wait that long to try it, as a second open beta will take place during the weekend of February 7.
After the first beta, held during the first weekend of November, players criticized the game’s performance on both consoles and PC. Capcom has since promised significant improvements in the final version of the game. Recently, they provided further details on these enhancements and even suggested they might lower the recommended PC requirements.

Performance Improvements in Progress
In a post on X/Twitter from the official German Monster Hunter account, Capcom showcased brief gameplay footage of the game running in Performance Priority mode on PS5, which promises 60 FPS. Additionally, they addressed PC players, stating that performance improvements would also extend to the PC version. They’re evaluating whether they can lower the recommended GPU requirements and plan to release a free, standalone benchmarking tool for hardware evaluation.

During the first beta, the recommended PC specifications required at least an RTX 2070 Super, RTX 4060, or RX 6700XT to achieve 1080p at 60 FPS with frame generation enabled. This sparked concern among players, as many PC setups didn’t meet these requirements. Capcom has now revealed that they are actively working to reduce these minimum specifications to make the game more accessible to a broader PC gaming audience.
In the upcoming beta, scheduled from February 7 to 10, players will have the chance to see how the game’s performance has improved.

However, Capcom has clarified that not all final-version fixes and enhancements will be included in this beta. For those unable to participate that weekend, another opportunity will be available from February 14 to 17.
