A New Battlestar Galactica Game
Part of theBattlestar Galacticafranchise, Scattered Hopes combines strategy, narrative choices and a roguelite structure. According to the developers, it’s a brand-new interactive game based on fundamental aspects of the series, making it a tribute that hardcore fans are likely to enjoy.
In the game, players must command a fleet of spaceships that are trying to escape from the Cylons' attacks on the Twelve Colonies. Though the group has survived so far when faced with enemy forces, their only hope is reaching the mighty Battlestar Galactica.

As they move toward this goal, they’ll have to deal with many circumstances. Not only will it be necessary to deal with recurring assaults by the Cylons, there will also be internal conflicts to deal with and resources to manage to keep the fleet afloat in space.
The reveal trailer teases a bit of the experience, which demands careful planning and decision-making. Choices may have consequences that make surviving easier or more complicated to deal with in the long run, with some details varying due to the roguelite nature of the experience.

Crises and Decisions
At the core of the experience is the concept of escaping an overwhelming enemy force. Instead of a matter of winning, battles against the Cylons will be focused on resisting their attacks until the next jump is available in order to retreat.
Players can deploy fighter units from hangars and use them to minimize damage by moving them around in real time. The main ship also has its own defenses, but they should be more limited and used strategically to deal with threats.

New upgrades will be unlocked over time, adding squadrons, weapons, traits and even meta upgrades that stick with the player for future runs. On the other hand, there will be a lot of choices to make, with the player having to deal with political dissent and disputes that could otherwise jeopardize the operations.
Having to deal with multiple crises at once will demand careful control over resources and personnel. There will also be points of interest to explore and one of the crisis possibilities that the developers mention explicitly is the possibility of imposters being among the crew making the vessels more vulnerable to the Cylons.
