While fans impatiently await the first trailer forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, whichis reportedly debuting attached to printsofMad Max: Fury Roadnext month, even more rumors keep surfacing regarding this highly-anticipated superhero adventure. Latino Review’sEl Mayimbehas a new report that claims an iconic villain from theDC Comicswill be featured in bothBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeandSuicide Squad. There will be potential SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

Last year, aBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicescript was making the rounds on the Internet, which ultimately ended up being a fan creation, but one of the tidbits included in that script was that the Robin costume worn by Jason Todd was being kept as a memorial in the Batcave. Once rumors of this script’s authenticity were shot down, the subsequent plot details contained therein were also dismissed. But it seems like there may be some truth within that fake script after all. Here’s whatEl Mayimbehad to say below about how Jason Todd ties into bothBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeandSuicide Squad.

“#BatmanvSupermanDawnofJustice Jason Todd’s uniform is in a display case inside the Batcave! In fact, The Joker & Harley Quinn are estranged inSuicide Squadbecause she feels guilt over the death of Todd. I’m also told that the RED HOOD is now a priority character for DC.”

In the comic books, Jason Todd became the second Robin after Dick Grayson struck out on his own as Nightwing. Jason was ultimately killed by The Joker in the famous 1988 comic book storyDeath in the Family. Years later, he is resurrected, remembering that The Joker killed him but, more importantly, that Batman never avenged his death, which lead to Jason Todd’s transformation into the Red Hood. Not long afterBen Affleckwas cast as Batman, the character was described as “weary,” having fought crime for years in Gotham. There was always speculation that Batman lost a sidekick years before the events ofBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and if this rumor is true, it could help introduce Red Hood in the solo Batman movie Warner Bros. is planning.

As forSuicide Squad, there are rumors that there is a massive prison riot sequence at the end of the movie, where Batman encounters The Joker just before he escapes from prison. If the Red Hood character is indeed a priority for Warner Bros, then it’s possible that the solo Batman movie could feature the Dark Knight battling both The Joker and the vengeful Red Hood. Naturally, none of this has been confirmed by Warner Bros., but what do you think about the possibility of Red Hood emerging as a major DC villain in the years to come?
