Over the years, we have often found ourselves admiring the physique of our beloved Marvel stars. Chris Hemsworth has been a leading figure in this game who has never failed to impress his fans. Even the others have also made great names due to their great superhero bodies. According to a Medical expert, almost 50 to 75% of stars in the MCU use steroids to enhance their body.

According to a USC Medical Expert Dr. Todd Schroeder, most of the Marvel actors use performance-enhancing drugs or PEDs under a doctor’s supervision. He also explained how the Marvel movies can be very challenging and it gets difficult to maintain the physique for several movies.

Do the Marvel actors use steroids?
Often we have come across several reports that allege many actors to be using medication for their beauty or physique. Some audiences have also thought thatChris Hemsworth‘s Godly physique is a result of steroids. Medical expert Dr. Todd Schroeder confirmed that he doesn’t. But he doesn’t share the same thoughts for the other heroes as well.
Schroeder doesn’t think all the Marvel heroes are capable enough like Hemsworth to achieve the critical feat without any medical help. When he spoke toVanity Fair, the doctor said that although the actors don’t talk about it openly, using PEDs under expert supervision is accepted.

“I would say that 50 to 75 per cent [use performance enhancing drugs (PEDs)]. Nowadays, it’s kind of expected and, working under a doctor’s care, it’s really been accepted. A lot of actors won’t talk about it openly, but they will work with a physician as well as a nutritionist and a trainer, and it’s a team. It’s not smart for an actor to do that alone.”
As Dr. Schroeder continued, he revealed that using steroids, testosterone, different androgens, or growth hormones for a very short period is acceptable and doesn’t have a lasting impact. Only prolonged consumption can cause drastic effects on the body. Although we spot countless fitness regimes of the Marvel actors on the internet, sometimes the PEDs become necessary.

It is not easy to maintain a Marvel physique for a long time
Most of the actors who work under the Marvel umbrella are aware of the fact that the studio intends to make long-running projects. The projects in the MCU are interconnected and the actors often abide by multiple-movie contracts. It makes it difficult for them to maintain the same impressive physique throughout so many projects and such a long period.
Dr. Schroeder cited the example of the MCU legendRobert Downey Jr.and explained that it gets difficult with age to maintain the shape. It gets extremely challenging and thus short-term medical help is needed.

“Especially as you get older. Like Robert Downey Jr., all the Iron Man [movies] he’s done, and some of them he’s gotten in really good shape for, but maintaining that is challenging. It’s a tough, tough world out there.”
The statements by Dr. Todd Schroeder show us a necessary evil and one of the potential secrets of the MCU. However, many fans have also refused to believe the claims and have expressed their support for their beloved Marvel heroes.
