HP Flexible, Unbreakable TFT Display Demonstrated HP and Arizona State University have demonstrated what they’re calling the first prototype of “affordable, flexible electronic displays”. Constructed using the self-aligned imprint lithography (SAIL) technology invented by HP Labs, the display also uses E Ink’s Vizplex bi-stable electrophoretic imaging film that requires no power to maintain an image; the end result is a low-power, low-manufacturing-cost display suitable for color text and graphics. Rather than being produced in sheets, in a batch process, SAIL allows the different layers to be combined in a roll-to-roll process....

HP says it’s worked on crafting efficient cooling for these laptops, with a mix of Omen Tempest Cooling Technology and undervolting designed to keep them running cool but efficient....

Huawei has overtaken Samsung as the biggest manufacturer of smartphones in the world. A report by analyst and tech research company Canalys shows thatHuaweishipped more smartphones worldwide than any other maker in Q2 2020, and all while remaining on the US blacklist. It is the first time, claims Canalys, that a manufacturer other thanSamsungorApplehas hit the top sport in nine years. Huawei shipped 55.8 million devices in the second-quarter, with Samsung shipping 53....
